NAHMA, Mich. (WLUC) - A large fire destroyed a main building at the Nahma Resort early Thursday morning, and a boil water notice was subsequently issued for water users in Nahma.

The chief of the Nahma Township Fire Department Travis Cayemberge says the fire was reported around midnight in a building with rentable rooms and storage. It was completely up in flames through the night. Multiple Delta County fire departments battled the fire, which was declared out at 8:00 a.m.

No injuries have been reported, and no one was inside the building when the fire started. A cause has not been determined.

The Nahma Township water operator says the water system suffered a pressure drop, and the boil water notice is only for water users in town.

The Nahma Resort is a main business in the small town in eastern Delta County on the shores of Big Bay de Noc.

The fire department from Nahma Township was assisted by Ensign Township Fire Department, Masonville Township Fire Department, Garden Township Fire Department, Inwood Township Fire Department, Thompson Township Fire Department, and Escanaba Township Ladder Truck.

This developing story will be updated when more information is available.
